"Working with Rustic Grain was really great... and of course the craftsmanship was amazing."

Material Sourcing

As with our approach to unique signature pieces, all material used in a Rustic Grain project is hand selected to exacting standards. Ranging from historic barn wood to locally sourced American hardwood all pieces are individually inspected against a 5-point checklist. We work hard to follow the best LEED practices in our designs and we work with the best vendors available to provide project items that we don’t have the capacity for producing in our own shop (i.e. custom glass and metal).

Design

From the initial meeting forward our design team provides 3D computer renderings to give you as realistic a look at your project as possible. We use the latest 3D design programs available to accomplish this and you as the client are in control of this process from the start. Rustic Grain will not start a project until you are satisfied that you can visualize the finished product and have signed-off on the plans which include an estimate/budget based on the totality of the project.

Build

The craftsmen in Rustic Grain’s workshop blend decades of woodworking experience together with classic American woods and time tested joinery techniques to produce projects that showcase the natural beauty of the material and provide it a sustainable future.

Finish

Rustic Grain takes great pride in the “finish” of our products. Each piece is “signed off” by at least 3 quality control managers to ensure that it lives up to our standards of look and durability. We are also committed to the best environmental and health quality of all of our finishes and therefore use the lowest VOC finishes available. Our hand applied finishing is all designed to showcase the natural beauty of the materials we use.

Installation

Though we of course will arrange direct shipping of your project at your request. We will also work with onsite contractors/project managers when it comes to installation. That may involve making products “install ready” or even occasionally using Rustic Grain employees to install your project to insure that everything is as good as it gets on the first day of its use.
