Working with homeowners and designers to craft heirloom pieces makes our day, and Christy and Randy Moore and their designer Lisa Cady were no exception. Christy found Rustic Grain while researching wood sources for their redesign. Our mutual love of reclaimed wood made partnership a dream.

The Moores loved visiting our shop and picking out the wood for their various projects. As we were searching through pieces, we found one old beam that had the Roman numeral XI carved it in. That happens to be the Moores’ house number. Featuring that mark on their mantel just made sense from then on.

A close up of the Moore mantel focusing on the XI found carved in the original beam.

Also in the living room, we made a boxbeam casing in oak highlighting the ceiling peaks. There is so much beauty in the room. We’re happy to play our part.

Moving into the kitchen you go under a header we cased in pine and land at this warm, inviting kitchen island. We coated the island top in resilient water-based poly. We wouldn’t recommend using it as a cutting board, but it will hold up great over time.

"We love old wood. When we started researching different wood sources for our project, Rustic Grain came up. Tim and Matthew were easy to work with and wanted you to be very happy with the end product. We loved going to the warehouse and picking out the wood for our various projects. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to create a unique design."
