A lot of people like what we do.  We have a steady stream of people who come and visit the shop to learn a little more about what we can do.  One relatively recent visit was by a couple who was actually a referral from Maggie over at Found. They came to see what we might do for them by way of designing some custom mirrors for their master bathroom.  Following our meeting about the mirrors, the husband took us aside privately and asked if we could secretly begin work on a coffee table chest for them.  We accepted and he returned a few days later to go over the design and select the wood.  As the project progressed, we updated him by email. When we completed the piece, with a little help from their friend, we delivered and setup the chest in their living room just before the couple returned from an out of town wedding.  His wife was delighted.

The wood that was selected was mostly from 1×12 roofing pine from our St. Clair Barn inventory. We also used hardware from the same source.  A slightly different approach to this  for this job came not only from the metal work and the functionality, but also from the cleaning of the wood.  Brian, our lead carpenter on this, had to carefully remove roofing tar that had been sitting on the wood for many decades.
