Restaurant
Death in the Afternoon
Death in the Afternoon, located at 808 Chestnut Street, in St. Louis Missouri; is a lunch destination designed to satisfy cravings for delicious, creative, natural food while using the most fresh and local ingredients. In keeping with this mission of using “local ingredients”, Rustic Grain was commissioned to help design and build all of the furnishings in this one-of-a-kind location with locally sourced reclaimed barn wood.
The Challenge
The exterior walls of this building are all constructed of 15′ glass, giving patrons amazing views of City Garden in Downtown St. Louis as well as allowing for an abundance of natural light. When designing the furnishings for theDeath In the Afternoon interior, Rustic Grain took all of these elements into account.
The Approach
Using all local reclaimed barnwood from our St. Clair, MO barn (the barn that was salvaged for this project can be found here:https://rusticgrain.com/st-clair-mo-legacy-through-renewed-purpose/), Rustic Grain created the following furnishings at Death In the Afternoon.
